At PlayWords we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data we collect (including if you play as a guest), how we use it, which providers help us, and your rights regarding your personal information.

Data we collect

We may collect:

  • Account data: email and profile (username, country) if you register.
  • Guest identifier: a random session ID stored in your browser so we can save progress without an account.
  • Usage data: game results, progress, achievements and preferences.
  • Technical data: browser type, language and general location (e.g. country).
  • Analytics identifiers: if you are logged in, we may send your user ID to Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics with usage events. Guests are associated via the session ID.

How we use your data

We use your data to:

  • Provide and improve the game and your experience.
  • Save your progress and show your achievements (as a guest or with an account).
  • Measure how the game is used via Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics.
  • Show ads and measure them when advertising is enabled on the site.
  • Process Pro payments via Lemon Squeezy if you subscribe.
  • Send important updates (e.g. security) if you have an account.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • Essential: Keep you logged in, remember preferences and store the guest session ID.
  • Analytics: Google Tag Manager / Google Analytics, including your user ID when you are logged in.
  • Advertising: Google AdSense, only when ads are enabled on the site. Used to show ads and measure their effectiveness.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access and receive a copy of your personal data.
